'Bully' game faces detention

Grand Theft Auto makers in court battle over new title

The controversy surrounding games developer Rockstar, makers of controversial Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with the hidden ‘Hot Coffee’ porn segment, is back in court.

The company is fighting an action by anti-games crusader Jack Thompson to have its much-anticipated new title Bully banned from sale in Florida.

In an unprecedented move, the judge has given publisher Take-Two 24 hours to deliver a copy of the game, as it is being played, for review. The game follows the adventures of a schoolboy coping with modern school problems and trying to deal with a host of bullies.

Despite the controversy of the title, the game features little of the violence associated with the GTA games. Bully is due for release next week and a negative decision by the court could lead to similar actions or buying restrictions around the US and abroad.
