Review: Gigabyte GV-NX88S640H-RH graphics card
Plenty of power for your money with this high-end graphics card
A mouthful of a product name for a card based on
Nvidia’s
latest 90nm G80 GPU, in this case the 8800GTS version of the chip.
The G80 is the first GPU to market that supports the new DX10 standard and
sets a new high for the number of transistors on a processor – 681 million.
Gigabyte’s
GV-NX88S640H-RH is based on the reference design, the only difference being the
attractive Gigabyte graphics adorning the cooler.
Underneath the two-slot cooling solution sits the standard GTS hardware; a
core running at 500MHz, while the 640MB of GDDR3 memory runs through a 320-bit
bus at 600MHz (1.2GHz effective).
Bundled in with the card are two games; Civilization IV and
Call of Juarez.
