Logitech announced the European availability of four products designed for
Sony’s Playstation 3 (PS3) console – including a controller with a fan inside to
cool hands.
The €40 Chillstream has three fan settings so you can get more cooling as the
game hots up.
“We introduced it because hands get sweaty when you are gaming,” said Jerry
Quindlen, senior vice-president of worldwide sales and marketing.
Other products linked to the PS3, due to launch in Europe this month, include
a keyboard, an HDMI link and a headset.
Logitech
also launched two new webcams designed for notebooks, the Quickcam and the
Quickcam Deluxe, which boasts a glass lens that has migrated down from a more
expensive product. Both pack microphones and come with software that optimises
both image and sound.
The company also demonstrated a range of 3D mice that have been launched over
the past few months. One, the MX 3200, is designed to take advantage of the 3D
effects in Vista, as well as other innovative features of the new interface.
Quindlen boasted that Logitech has enjoyed double-figure growth for 33
consecutive quarters and hit $7bn in revenues for the first time in 2006.
