Concise Oxford German Dictionary 2.1

Over 150,000 words and phrases

Chris Cain, Personal Computer World 06 May 2005

If you don't know your lager from your bitte or simply want to build on an existing knowledge of German, this dictionary from Oxford University Press could prove a useful tool.

It includes electronic versions of the German/English and English/German books, and covers areas of language including general, business and technical use.

The package features over 150,000 words and phrases, plus 250,000 translations. You can look up a word either by typing English or German into a floating desktop search bar or double-clicking it in either Internet Explorer or Microsoft Office.

The software uses the rather cramped Ifinger interface but seems to work fine here. However, the presentation still lags some way behind the quality of the content.
