Review: Western Digital Mybook Studio hard disk

Choose your connection to this 1TB drive

Simon Crisp, Personal Computer World 18 Dec 2007

The Mybook Studio Edition hard drive is smaller than previous models in the range, yet it has a larger capacity and the bonus of four interfaces.

Weighing just 1.17kg, it’s also easier to carry around. It also comes with a power button something that was missing on earlier models.

Our review unit was the flagship 1TB model using Western Digital’s new Green Power 1TB drive. The four interfaces are USB2, Firewire 800 and 400 and e-Sata the Firewire 400 uses a converter cable (supplied, as are all the other cables) to convert one of the two Firewire 800 ports. It comes formatted for Mac use, but Windows drivers and software can be downloaded.
