Two new dual-core Athlon processors draw 30 percent less energy than the previous generation 'without compromising on performance,' says AMD

The 45-watt 2.3GHz AthlonX2 4450e and 2.1GHz 4050e are designed for mainstream and enthusiast power users who need to run -intensive applications on multiple processors, the company says.

Leslie Sobon, director of desktop product management, said they would help manufacturers meet new Energy Star specifications omn power efficiency.
