Distributor Bell Micro has elevated long-standing European boss Graeme Watt to a newly-created global position.

Following four years as Bell’s president of European distribution, Watt has been promoted to president of worldwide distribution. He will continue to report to Donald Bell, Bell’s chief executive and president.

Watt will now oversee Bell’s North American, Europe and Latin American operations, taking responsibility for all sales, marketing, operations, IT, value-added, finance and other support activities.

Donald Bell said in a statement: “Graeme has a deep understanding of the IT industry and has the experience and capabilities to lead our continued success worldwide.

“In his leadership role in Europe, he has had responsibility for approximately half of our total distribution business. His demonstrated leadership capabilities have enabled the Company to build a talented and high calibre team in Europe,"

Before joining Bell in 2004, Watt was EMEA president of broadliner Tech Data.
