It doesn't take long to amass an MP3 collection of thousands of tracks.
Finding tracks is helped by tags that can contain information on the artist, genre and album.
Unfortunately older tracks with incomplete information can quickly become lost in large collections.
MP3-Check can quickly scan a large number of MP3 files and report on which ones need extra information.
The interface is straightforward to use and as MP3-Check will look in sub folders it is a simple to search an entire music collection in one go. Our collection of 1,644 tracks took less than a couple of minutes.
If you want to come back to this list later on, it can be saved as a separate file, although this does slow down the search process.
Once tracks have identified as needing attention MP3-Check can be used to launch software to fix the problems. It's a shame that these tools are not included in MP3-Check but it does do a good job at finding the tracks, which is normally the hardest part of organising a collection.
