Desktop gadgets have been around in one form or another for a few years but
they can have big drawbacks.
Many are more funky than functional and others come with too much baggage,
creating a significant performance hit that can slow the whole computer down.
Windows Vista gadgets, on the other hand, are surprisingly nippy and many of
them, such as the live train departure board gadget from National Rail, are well
worth having.
In this Workshop we’ll demonstrate how to find and install the train gadget
and then set it up to watch a railway station anywhere in the UK for
up-to-the-minute departures, platform numbers (and the inevitable delays and
cancellations) as well as live news from the station departure board.
