is being revamped, with a new design intended to make it easier to keep up to
date.
The main change is the Wall section, where more details about a user's
activities will be published in bitesize updates.
The new design also aims to tidy up the site by combining several different
menus into a single navigation bar at the top of the screen.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said: “We've made the changes in order to
highlight the most recent and relevant information that users value, give users
even more control and ownership over their profiles and simplify the user
experience.
“Facebook's new design makes it a lot easier for users to share information,
and we encourage them to check it out.”
Over the coming weeks all Facebook users will automatically be sent to the
new version of the site when they log in. However, those that cannot wait can
view it at
www.new.facebook.com.
