Verdict
Overall:

A decent, if slightly limited, way to present those Kodak moments.

DVD X Show gives you the ability to turn your ordinary digital photos into a dynamic slideshow that will attract attention.

It works by putting together a 'movie' of all your favourite pictures. However, instead of displaying each static image individually, it is capable of zooming and panning across particular sections of a photo and changing between pictures using Microsoft Powerpoint-style special effects.

Using the software is straightforward. Digital snaps can be imported from a folder or captured directly from your scanner or digital camera into the program's thumbnail grid. From here, focal points or 'Hotboxes' can be assigned to each photo and music added. The program can then be told how to move between each Hotbox.

There is a Hotbox auto-generator that saves time and effort, but this can lead to unwanted results. Inappropriate body parts are often lingered on for far too long, which can result in embarrassing family moments. Using the software manually will yield better results and the fact that you can burn your final movie to a DVD and create your own screensaver makes it a worthwhile consideration.
