Movie Clone Plus allows you to back up and copy your DVDs and X-OOM has done an excellent job of simplifying what is a usually a complicated process. You can 'rip' a DVD's contents to your PC, copy directly from disc to disc (CD or DVD), and create a DVD from data on your hard disk. To copy a full DVD takes around an hour but this is dependant on the amount of data and the speed of your recordable DVD drive.
Although many commercial DVDs have a capacity of 9Gb, most blank DVDs only hold 4.7Gb. Thankfully, Movie Clone Plus can squeeze up to 9Gb of video onto a 4.7Gb DVD. It manages this very well, but we did find a few compatibility issues with some standalone DVD players, especially the PlayStation 2. There is minimal reduction in quality too. If you don't have a recordable DVD drive, you can create VCDs and SVCDs from DVDs, although the quality is greatly reduced.
Making duplicates of copy-protected DVDs is illegal and Movie Clone Plus won't let you do it. Despite this, there's enough in the program to make it a worthwhile buy for DVD-burning enthusiasts.
