Intel is to undertake major rebranding this year with the launch of a new corporate slogan and logo.

The firm's previous tag line of "Intel Inside" will be scrapped and replaced with "Leap Ahead". Intel hopes the move will provide a more focused and innovative brand image.

Intel will release details of a new marketing campaign on the 5 January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where the rebrand is expected to promote its Centrino processors used in notebook.

Eric Kim, senior vice president and general manager of sales and marketing at Intel, said in a statement: "Intel has one of the most valuable brands in the world, and we intend to grow the value of our brand as we evolve the company.

"This evolution will allow Intel to be better recognised for our contributions, establish a stronger emotional connection with our audiences and strengthen our overall position in the marketplace," he added.
