The business credentials of Apple's 3G iPhone have been boosted by Sybase's
iAnywhere division, which has announced enterprise email support for the device
in its iAnywhere Mobile Office suite.
Available now, the suite provides access to corporate email on Microsoft
Exchange and Lotus Domino systems via its OneBridge Mobile Groupware middleware
component. This supports various client-side platforms including Windows Mobile,
Symbian, and Palm OS, as well as Apple's iPhone.
iAnywhere Mobile Office integrates
with the iPhone's Mail client to provide offline access to emails. IT
administrators have control over user access and can restrict attachments and
prevent users removing email data from a device, the firm said.
