Leadtek WinFast A380 Ultra TDH MyVIVO Edition

Leadtek takes a different route with its FX5950 offering, theWinFast A380 Ultra TDH MyVIVO Edition.

Instead of the large plasticcowling of the reference nVidia design, it uses a regular if somewhatlarge heat sink and cooler,which despite its size does freeup one of the two PCI slots obscured by the reference design. The fan, which has a quoted noise level of just 28dB has a filter protecting it from dust build up; one of the major reasons why your graphic card fans suddenly starts shrieking.

The most impressive part of the package however is the MyVIVO. This supports PIP (picture-in-picture), de-inter-lacing (reducing noise or flicker at the edge of moving objects), and supports MPEG-1, 2 and 4 video capture formats. Most useful of all is DirectBurn, that allows you to burn videos directly to DVD rather than saving it to hard disk first.

The A380 Ultra TDH comes with the usual comprehensive Leadtek software bundle; WinFast DVD and the WinFox II hardware monitoring and tweaking suite are the main stars of this. Also included is Cult 3D, Coloreal?s colour management utilities and two games ? Gun Metal and Big Mutha Truckers.
