For those on a limited budget, the Radeon X1900 and X1800 versions of the All-in-Wonder (AIW) probably isn't option. Thankfully, ATI has now released the AlW 2006 PCI Express.

Based on the Radeon X1300, the AIW 2006 has core speed of 450MHz with a total of 256MB of memory running at 400MHz (800MHz effective) - both of which are slower than the X1300 Pro.

But it's thanks to these slower clock speeds the AIW 2006 can use a smaller single-slot cooler than the reference design, making it ideal for the home theatre cases.

The card is slightly longer than a standard X1300, but it's still a good deal shorter than either the AIW X1800 and X1900.

It may be slower than both its bigger siblings, but it still has a decent feature set.

You'll find support for Shader Model 3, Videoshader, Smartshader, Hyper-Z, Smoothvison HD and Avivo.

You can read the full performance results here.

The built in TV tuner is once again the Theatre 200 chip and it will receive either standard analogue or digital Freeview broadcasts. However, like other AIW cards, it's only a single-tuner model.

The expansion plate holds the usual AIW ports - FM in, TV in, DVI-out and ATIís own connector block for various other inputs and outputs.

If you don't require blistering performance and are really just after a decent multimedia graphics card, the new AIW 2006 would be a good choice.
