The Aopen i945GTm-VHL is yet another small mobile CPU-based motherboard that uses notebook type So-Dimm memory. This model is built on Micro ATX PCB, making it an ideal if very expensive candidate for home-theatre PCs.

A CPU heatsink and 7cm fan is included in the package; this will spin right down to 2,200rpm when processor use drops. When things start to get a bit warmer, the spin speed increases to 3,000rpm.

The Northbridge is passively cooled, which further helps keep down the noise and highlights the i945GTm-VHL’s credentials as the basis for a PC that to sit in the lounge.

So-Dimm slots cater for DDR2-400 up to DDR2-667 memory, with the maximum capacity being 2GB.
