Upon opening the box of the M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition, you are immediately struck by the amount of kit Asus has crammed in.
Along with a plethora of data cables, serial ATA power cables and expansion plates, you also get a clip-on cooling fan for the VRM heatsink, Screenduo (a small display panel that shows information without having to boot up the system) and even a remote control.
Based around AMD’s AM2 socket and Nvidia’s Nforce 590SLI chipset, the M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition is a well-laid out board that is stuffed full of features.
One feature particularly worthy of note is what Asus calls the Accelerated Propeller – a small USB riser card containing 512MB of memory for use with Vista’s Readyboost.
It also sports four Dimm slots (supporting up to 8GB of DDR2 memory in total), two x16 full-speed PCI-Express slots, integrated eight-channel audio, dual Gigabit Ethernet, a total of eight serial ATA 3Gbits/sec (seven internal and one external) and support for up to eight USB2 ports.
