Despite reasonable looks, the exterior of Neovo's Fotoview V-10 digital photo frame feels a tad cheap.
Interestingly, there appear to be no controls or inputs, other than power, however, on further inspection a top-mounted cover flips up to reveal a multi-card reader and mini-USB port.
Turn the unit on, and the controls light up around the bezel. These are touch operated and fade out after a few seconds. This works well, and gives the impression you're looking at a real photo frame rather than a fancy piece of technology.
The controls are also very responsive, which puts our mind at rest after a recent experience with a similar layout in the Linx Ality range.
Neovo's success in the LCD market certainly shows - the 800x480 resolution screen is superbly sharp and does a great job of showing off your snaps. You'll find 128MB of built-in memory and if you want to copy photos to the hard drive it's simply case of drag and drop.
We noticed that the frame doesn't recognise folders, preferring to gather all your photos together into a single view, which does restrict you in terms of organisation. In addition to basic photo viewing you'll find a range of transitions and a clock/calendar display for added convenience.
An internal battery is included, but lasting for under an hour before it requires a recharge you'll be relying on the external power adapter more often than not.
You can currently pick up the V-10 for around £130, which is quite a lot considering the 7in screen size and no additional media support or playback. It's also missing any form of wireless connectivity; neither Wifi nor Bluetooth are present, which is a shame. But we can't deny it does well in terms of operation and performance.
