UK consumers would pay up to £64 more for an environmentally friendly PC
according to a
Greenpeacesurvey.
Ipsos-Mori, on behalf of the environmental group, interviewed 9,000 people in
nine countries, including the UK, Germany, China and India for the survey.
China’s consumers proved the most generous, saying they would pay up £108
more for a greener PC. Overall, the research also found people believed that
manufacturers should take more responsibility for recycling old PCs.
Greenpeace hailed
Dell
for announcing plans to eliminate the use of all brominated flame retardants and
polyvinyl chloride in its products by 2009.
