Acer has posted a utility that eliminates an Active X control in its
notebooks that can enable a web page to
launch a rogue
program.
The patch, available
here,
first check that the offending file, LunchApp.ocx , exists in the
C:\Windows\System directory and then deletes it and removes references to it
from the system registry.
An Acer
statement said the control is not present in systems running Vista.
