Notebook has 600GB drive

Proving that not all laptops have to be lightweight and skinny, Eurocom has announced a new gaming notebook with a 600GB hard disk drive with RAID support.

The D900C Phantom FSB1066 is being pitched as the first “workstation-class gaming notebook” and will sport not one, but two Nvidia Geforce Go 7950 GTX or two Quadro FX2500M graphics chips – depending on whether you want to game or do professional graphics work.

It will be powered by Intel’s Core Two Extreme processors, measures 15.8x11.9x2.05in and weighs in at just under 12lbs. The 600GB of storage is provided by three internal hard drives. You can expect to pay for all that performance though since the battery will run dry in just one hour.

“It's like we crammed a workstation-caliber PC, complete with Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) into a notebook form factor,” said Mark Bialic, president of Eurocom. “It may be large, but this is one extremely fast notebook that replaces desktop-based workstation with over one hour of built-in UPS battery.”

In addition there’s an integrated webcam, Bluetooth and Wireless superG 108Mbytes/sec A/B/G networking, internal TV/HDTV tuner and surround sound. So far, there’s no price.
