Belkin recalls faulty powerline adapters
"Minimal risk" of electric shock

Belkin is recalling an unspecified number of data-over-mains products because
they do not meet EU safety standards.
They are the Powerline Starter Kit (F5D4073), Powerline AV starter kit
(F5D4074) and single Powerline networking adapters (F5D4073S and F5D4074S).
Belkin says a very small number of the units do not meet the 2006 European
Low Voltage Directive and the European Standard 60950-1, meaning that they might
cause an electric shock.
The company says it believes from extensive tests that the risk is minimal
and stresses that it has received no information about the products causing
injury or damage. But it added in a press statement: "In order to completely
reassure customers, Belkin is erring on the side of caution."
The affected products were on sale between last October and this February,
most of them in Germany and the Benelux region.
