Zabugorie: The Fairy Planet is the first (and free) instalment of an amusing and zany five-part adventure game.
It uses simple 3D graphics and a point and click interface, including standard commands such as look, pick up and talk, in order to interact with the various objects and characters in the game.
The plot is as follows: aliens have tried to steal the sun but Yaga the witch has stopped them and trapped them and their craft on Zabugorie. For the aliens to escape they need to locate their lost energy chest.
Your task is to get to the chest before they do, driving the aliens off the planet. It is a crazy plot, but hides a fairly good game.
Accompanying you on your quest is a black cat offering advice and inane comments. Progress is made through bribing, flattering or fighting Zabugorie residents for information/assistance.
With its colourful graphics and humorous story line, there should be enough to keep children occupied.
The only downside is a slight imperfection in the grammar used during the game, which leaves a little to be desired, but it in no way affects the gameplay.
Note: The final four parts can be purchased for £9.97.
