Sun Microsystems has launched a series of mobile Java offerings targeted at operators and developers.
With the availability of its Content Delivery Server, Java Device Test Suite and the Java Mobility Advantage Programme, Sun claimed it can offer the only modular content delivery system that allows operators to customise their mobile content delivery platforms.
The Sun Content Delivery Server enables operators to manage the process of delivering mobile applications securely over the air to subscribers.
The Java Device Test Suite is a system of 4,000 test cases designed to verify, validate and evaluate Java technology-enabled devices.
And the Java Mobility Advantage Programme will help operators and developers develop, manage and sell Java services.
"Sun is addressing the market's need for a comprehensive set of products and programs that will help mobile operators, regardless of network platforms, manage the entire mobile content," said Juan Dewar, senior director of Sun's consumer and mobile systems group.
