EBay seller offers Big Brother 'golden ticket'

Regular eBay users have spotted this year's first Big Brother auction on the site, offering a chance to win one of the 'golden tickets' that will let a member of the public into the house. 

Although 14 attention seekers have already entered the Big Brother house, another place is being offered to those who find the tickets concealed within KitKat bars.

Now an eBay auction has been started offering one of the bars for sale, although the picture is of one of the winning tickets.

"Here is a very special Big Brother KitKat bar, and with it an amazing chance to win a coveted golden ticket," wrote the seller.

"If you win the ticket you will gain entry into the big brother house. There are 100 tickets out there in a special KitKat bars, and it could be the bar that contains the golden ticket."

While the auction doesn't say specifically that it is selling a ticket, the picture is of one of the tickets and people could be suckered into shelling out for what they think is a valid ticket.

The auction mirrors a similar stunt at the launch of the PlayStation 2, where one auctioneer successfully sold a PS2 cardboard box for over £250 to a purchaser who failed to read the small print. 

At the time of going to press the top bid for the 'golden ticket' was 37p, suggesting that internet users are not as stupid as the auctioneer suspects.
