T-Mobile
has signed the millionth customer to its Flext tariff just seven months after
launch, claiming it to be the fastest growing price plan it has ever offered.
Unlike most other price plans in the mobile market, Flext offers an allowance
measured in monetary value, not in minutes and numbers of text messages.
A customer can use this allowance on voice calling, text messaging, picture
messaging or voicemail retrieval.
The success of the plan has put pressure on rivals to offer similar flexible
plans.
Vodafone
launched Your Price Plan and Your Extras for its monthly contract customers in
early September.
Vodafone claims that it now offers the most choice in the flexible plan
market, as it includes music downloads and mobile television alongside voice
minutes, text and MMS.
