Cult video blog RocketBoom has been joined by a new competitor in the daily three-minute online video market.

WallStrip mirrors RocketBoom's irreverent style and lone female presenter, but focuses on Wall Street stocks rather than recent internet fads. WallStip launched on Monday this week, focusing on Apple

"Since this is our first show, let me tell you a little bit about what to expect," said Lindsay Campbell in the first edition.

"Wallstrip is where stock culture meets pop culture. Each day we look at a company whose stock is at or near a new high and make it our business to figure out why. Not in the stock world, but here in the real world."

The project has been set up by entrepreneur and hedge fund manager Howard Lindzon. "The launch was better than I could have hoped for and most things ran smoothly," he said.

"All in all, great traffic and 120 plus links the first day. I don't hold any weight for Technorati and don't have a clue how it works, but WallStrip passed this blog in ranking by 90,000 spots in the first day, so that can't be bad."

Reaction among bloggers was mixed. "Not only does WallStrip hit the spot with the right content, but they got an amazing anchor. Lindsay Campbell is gorgeous, witty, and fun to watch. For all of us single guys, let's hope she's available! " wrote Benton Crane

"The production style is Rocketboom-esque, but the substance is business. OK, the show is not great, yet, but I like the effort. We'll test it for the next week or so," wrote a contributor to The Conglomerate

Another simply commented that it should be called 'WallStripper' and asked female contributors to help set up a rival show.
